Disability

Disability Insurance, also known as Catastrophic health insurance, covers major, unforeseen health issues. A catastrophic expense could involve a need for a high-cost drug, or out-of-country medical evacuation.

Disability insurance also offers financial support for insured individuals who become unable to work due to a disability. Disability insurance can cover a portion of your income, as well as coverage for daily living expenses, medical bills, and other costs associated with an acquired disability.

Disability insurance policies can be short or long term. Short-term disability insurance typically covers a period of a few weeks to a few months, while long-term disability insurance can provide coverage for several years or even until retirement age. Short-term disability insurance can provide coverage for a variety of conditions, including pregnancy, surgery, and illnesses such as cancer or heart disease. Long-term disability insurance typically covers more serious and long-lasting disabilities, such as paralysis, severe back injuries, or neurological disorders.
